Maintenance Technician

Location: Warwick, RI

The Trudeau Center in Warwick, RI is seeking a dependable, organized, and diligent Maintenance Technician to join our Team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and performing preventive maintenance as needed.

Your role will be integral in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our buildings and homes.

We seek candidates with practical skills, an impeccable eye for detail, and a background in maintenance and carpentry.

As the maintenance technician you will be responsible for:

Perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned locations, including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry, building system, painting, and groundskeeping.

Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (examples: drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures); Handling light construction, electrical and plumbing repairs.

Perform service requests and repairs as directed (Painting, appliance repair, minor electrical, carpentry).

Assuring that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained, in a safe working order.

Drive the company vehicle in a safe manner.

Diagnose and resolve carpentry issues as they arise, such as repairing doors, windows, decks, and other stages of construction.

Able to interact with people with disabilities and their employees in a pleasant and friendly way.

Education and Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Good Work Ethic

Minimum 2 years of experience with building maintenance

Monday-Friday with an on-call rotation

Backgrounds checks - BCI/Criminal background/OIG exclusion list

Driver’s License and favorable driving record.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors, as needed.

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, climb, lift and heavy objects, bend and be able to perform physically all that is required.
